Jai Chandiram, Executive Director FICT  conducted a workshop for the  Radio Station at Kongu Engineering College at Thoppuppalayam, Erode District, Tamilnadu, in South India. The station covers a broadcast range of about 10 Kms in the nearby village communities mainly consisting of farmers, weavers and poultry keepers. The Kongu radio station was broadcasting to the student community but will now extend its broadcasts for five hours daily to serve the needs of the village community .Special programmes for women with a focus on science have been added to the menu.
